FAQ

🏨 Housing & Accommodations
Where do campers and educators stay during the week?
FSCI has a reserved block of discounted rooms at our partner hotel in the Orlando area. All housing reservations must be made directly with the hotel, as FSCI does not oversee or process lodging. The property offers resort-style amenities and is located just minutes from rehearsals and performance spaces. Participants can choose to stay off the property and commute, as well.
Are housing and meals included in the registration cost?
Housing is not included in registration and must be booked separately using the camp’s group rate link. Meals are also not included in the registration; however, there are many on-site and nearby dining options.
Who supervises students staying overnight?
All students staying in the hotel must be accompanied by an adult—either a parent/guardian or their school’s educator/chaperone. FSCI counselors and staff will supervise students during all rehearsals, performances, and scheduled activities. However, FSCI staff do not supervise individual rooms.
Can students room with friends or request roommates?
Yes! We recommend coordinating with friends or family who plan to attend together, as this helps reduce room costs. FSCI will not assign roommates; however, there is a section on the registration form where students can request to be paired with another student and/or school .
Are there options for local/commuter students who live nearby?
Absolutely! Local students may register as commuters. They will attend all daytime and evening activities but will commute home each night.
💰 Registration & Payment
What’s included in the registration fee?
Your registration covers all classes, rehearsals, guest artist sessions, evening events, performance music and copyrights, and an official FSCI T-shirt.
How do I register and pay?
Registration is completed online. Payments can be made by credit/debit card and check. Registration is confirmed once payment is received.
What is the refund or cancellation policy?
All registration fees are non-transferable and due in full at the time of registration. Cancellations made on or before May 1, 2026 will receive a 75% refund of the total registration fee. Cancellations received between May 2 and June 5, 2026 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after June 5, 2026, as preparations and staffing will have been finalized. In the event that the Florida Show Choir Intensive is canceled by the organizers due to unforeseen circumstances (such as weather, facility issues, or public safety concerns), full refunds will be issued for camp registration fees only. Lodging, travel, or third-party expenses are not refundable through FSCI. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to floridashowchoir@gmail.com.
Can schools pay by purchase order or check?
Yes! School and district payments are welcome.
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?
Pending sponsorship support, limited scholarships may become available. Updates and applications will be shared on our website.
🎶 Camp Experience
Who can attend — are there age or experience requirements?
FSCI is open to students entering grades 7–12, including graduating seniors preparing to enter college. Exceptions may be made for rising 6th graders who demonstrate maturity and dedication to show choir and the performing arts. Because this is a fast-paced and focused environment, participants should be ready to challenge themselves vocally, physically, and creatively.
What classes or workshops will be offered?
Students will take part in show choir rehearsals, choreography sessions, vocal training, and performance workshops with nationally recognized clinicians. There will also be specialized sessions on competitive show choir, including Show Choir 101, Judging & Adjudication, and Designing Your Own Competition Show. Guest artists from Broadway, Disney, Universal, and beyond will lead various sessions, including auditioning, acting the song, and professional performance preparation and more.
What should students bring with them?
Students should bring:
-
Comfortable, movement-friendly rehearsal clothing
-
Closed-toe shoes or dance shoes for all rehearsals
-
A water bottle and writing utensils
-
Cute, casual outfits for social events and photo moments
-
Talent Show items (if participating): sheet music, backing tracks, instruments, etc.
For the final performance, students should wear:
· Top: provided camp t-shirt
-
Bottom: blue jeans or blue jean shorts (fingertip length or longer with stretch for movement)
-
Shoes: tennis shoes or dance sneakers
There are no costumes—just a cohesive, clean, performance-ready look!
